Sea Songs and Boat Music

December 16, 2013

Not to be jaded, but don’t you get tired of holiday music, especially around, well, the holidays. Let’s take a break from all this holiday cheer and switch the channel to some tunes about life on the ocean, or just trying to get there.

As it turns out, Barbara Jean says she and her sister are both Lyle Lovett fans, so we’ve put “If I had a Boat” at the top of our boat-music list. What would you like to hear?  Or better yet, what are you willing to sing, hum, or otherwise perform on the air with us? (You can read more about what Barbara Jean says on this topic here.)

We invited Deborah Crooks and Kwame Copeland to join us. If we run out of songs, we can talk about the Folkboat culture of San Francisco bay and find out how Kwame got from Wyoming to the sea.

Rich Difede from Gold Coast Yachts in the U.S. Virgin Islands joined us as well, and we also filled you in on what’s going on with the Back to Sea project in the Philippines.

If you want to follow-up on in this episode of It’s My Boat radio, let us know. You can leave a message (or a song!) below, or send email to
